Even though we will only be focusing on one discussion book per month, we are both avid readers and are always keeping an eye out for good books to read. We’ve accumulated some “recommend reading lists” from a few different libraries, books, websites, etc. and will be posting them in case you are looking for more good books to read (WE always are!) As we work our way through reading the books on the lists we will be writing reviews on them and adding links to those reviews. Hopefully you will enjoy having a list to read down as much as we do!

Welcome to our Book Club Online! We are so excited to start up this new adventure and we think it will be a lot of fun. We are a husband and wife who have been very interested in trying to find a book club that we could attend together. We have been wanting to have some fresh ideas to talk about with each other (now that we have been married 5 years we tend to have the same conversations over and over again). We both LOVE reading, however we don’t typically read the same types of books. So we decided a book club would be a great solution for us.

In looking at the logistics of getting a babysitter and working around a pilot schedule (Mike) and a crazy hockey schedule (Jodi) we finally came to the conclusion that it wouldn’t work out very well. We didn’t want to give up on our idea though so we came up with a plan to decide on a book each month and then take turns coming up with discussion questions. Jodi is a blogging fanatic and decided it would be fun to turn the idea into a little joint blog. After further discussion we both realized it would spark even more conversation and give us motivation to keep up with it if we don’t limit it to just the two of us.

Thus our Book Club Online was formed. We will spend the rest of October talking about book clubs in general as well as outlining what we will be doing and how we will go about discussing the books.
